Sometimes it is difficult to see the meaning of things in the right light. From an archaeological point of view, for example, there are different concepts of interpretation: the contradictory terms of secular and sacred; the question of classification and the development of artifacts. These make it - in certain circumstances - possible to guess, whether the object of interest was part of a religious act, or just the remains of a meal. Or maybe there was a development from one meaning to the other?
In most cases you will find the answer in the context, but even more often is it also a matter of perspective and from which direction the light comes.
